WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, the U.S. and UK deal on cross-border data flows takes effect. This significant development follows months of negotiations between the two governments to eliminate data transfer constraints and promote transatlantic data flows.
‘The agreement is a testament to both nations' commitment to bolster trade, foster innovation, and prioritize personal data protection,’ said Marjorie Chorlins, Senior Vice President for Europe at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
The completion of this agreement establishes a data bridge between the United Kingdom and the United States to enable the free flow of data between organizations in both countries, promoting data rights, responsible innovation, and improved access to services while reducing burdens on businesses.
