TO THE MEMBERS OF THE UNITED STATES SENATE:The U.S. Chamber of Commerce strongly supports the FY 2018 BudgetResolution and associated reconciliation instructions. The Chamber applauds theCommittee on the Budget for crafting this resolution as the next, essential step towardconsideration of pro-growth tax reform legislation. We urge the Senate to ensure theCommittee framework remains unaltered during consideration.
Make no mistake, the opportunity before the Senate is momentous. Along withsimilar House action, Senate passage of this FY18 budget would initiate the once-in-agenerationopportunity to simplify the arcane tax code and thereby help families who arestruggling to make ends meet, help employers create jobs, increase Americancompetitiveness, and foster strong, sustained economic growth.Congress must pass the FY 2018 Budget Resolution quickly so both the Houseand Senate can take the next step toward consideration of pro-growth tax reform that willaccomplish those goals.Sincerely,
