WASHINGTON, D.C. — Jordan Crenshaw, senior vice president of the U.S. Chamber’s Technology Engagement Center (C_TEC), issued the following statement today in response to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) proposal on Title II net neutrality regulations.
"This is like a sequel of a bad movie: once again a majority of the FCC is trying to use policy from the 1930s to regulate the internet. This is just as flawed today as it was when it was last tried under the Obama Administration. The prospect of Title II regulation of broadband networks will mean less investment in closing the digital divide, which will make it harder for small businesses and families to access high-speed internet – whether they are using it to reach new customers, do homework, or simply watch an old movie. Congress never authorized the Commission to fundamentally alter broadband regulation in such an economically significant way."
