WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Chamber of Commerce today announced the hiring of Nina Frant as Vice President for Consumer Policy, adding to the Chamber’s best-in-class expertise advocating for a smart policy and regulatory environment that supports the economy.
Nina joins the Chamber after serving as an attorney-advisor to former Commissioner Christine Wilson at the Federal Trade Commission. She brings with her over 15 years of legal experience in consumer protection and competition policy, including areas related to privacy, data security, and consumer financial, marketing, and advertising practices.
“American companies serve consumers—after all, if they fail to do so, they will cease to exist. Unfortunately, too often Washington thinks it knows what is best for businesses and consumers,” said Sean Heather, U.S. Chamber of Commerce Senior Vice President of International Regulatory Affairs & Antitrust. “Having worked in and out of government, Nina understands that policies can be both pro-consumer and pro-business, as markets ensure the interests of both are well-aligned. Her experience will be invaluable to our members as we seek to hold regulatory overreach in check.”
During her four years in Commissioner Wilson’s office at the FTC, Nina provided counsel on consumer protection enforcement efforts, rulemakings, and policy initiatives and coordinated with consumer advocates, industry, and Congressional leaders to build consensus on related issues. Before her work at the FTC, Nina served as a consumer protection counsel at Wells Fargo and an attorney in the Office of Supervision Policy at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
