In June, voters in Alabama’s 5th Congressional District Republican primary made a strong, solid choice in current Madison County Commission Chairman Dale Strong.
Strong has the credentials, skills, and record of maximizing the growth of our economy and creating good-paying jobs in Alabama with a recession an increasing possibility and as people and businesses across the state struggle to pay their bills. That is why the U.S. Chamber of Commerce endorsed Dale Strong. He has delivered results for Madison County and will do the same for the 5th Congressional District as a Member of Congress.
Alabama emerged from the COVID-19 pandemic only to be hit by high gas, food, and energy prices. The average price for a gallon of gasoline hit a record-high of $4.63—an increase of .46 cents from May. Adding more financial stress for Alabama’s families, the U.S. Department of Agriculture is anticipating a 3-4% increase in grocery store prices.
Voters here and across the nation are frustrated by Washington’s inaction—a mere 18% of voters approve of the job Congress is doing, according to the latest Gallup poll numbers. Voters want lawmakers in Congress to act, not just talk.
That’s why it has never been more important to elect pro-business champions, focused on results and action, to the halls of Congress. Dale Strong will head to Congress ready to address our economic challenges, allowing Alabamians to keep more of their hard-earned money. With a pro-defense and anti-tax agenda, he understands what policies are needed to lay the groundwork for the region’s economic future. North Alabama plays a vital role in our nation’s economy, from its manufacturing industry to its space program.
His record demonstrates that his actions will back up his words in Washington just as they have in Madison County. When first elected as Chairman of the Madison County Commission, Strong’s pledge to residents was “Do more with Less.” It was a pledge he immediately put into action. He made the county’s departments more efficient by trimming bureaucratic overhead. Through his sensible financial management, Madison County invested in local infrastructure, improving interstates and highways to reduce congestion and traffic—all without raising taxes on residents.
Strong will also make the hard choices required to rein in spending and put Congress on a budget. With record inflation and a possible recession near, the last thing Alabamians need is more taxes. Instead, they sorely need their paychecks stretched further than they are these days. Families are operating on a strict budget, trying to reduce expenses and spend less. Meanwhile, Congress cannot stick to its own budget, with the national debt soaring to over $30 trillion this year. Lawmakers must start balancing the nation’s budget so that future generations are not forced to shoulder a debt they played no part in creating.
Collaborating with others is instrumental to accomplishing legislative goals, whether in Alabama or on Capitol Hill. Strong has a record of doing just that—and delivering results.
Working with Governor Ivey and leaders in North Alabama, he helped recruit key projects from major corporations, including Toyota Mazda, Polaris, Facebook, Blue Origin, and GE Aviation. He also partnered with U.S. Senator Richard Shelby and retiring Rep. Mo Brooks to support Redstone Arsenal and Research Park, resulting in the U.S. Air Force’s decision to move the new U.S. Space Command headquarters to Huntsville.
Strong has called Washington “broken right now,” and he isn’t wrong. Congress needs fresh leaders who will restore civility and common sense and set aside bickering to roll up their sleeves and get back to work. Strong will bring those important qualities along with his solid record of action to Capitol Hill, ensuring it is the voters whose voices are heard the loudest.
