The U.S. Chamber of Commerce supports pro-business candidates who advance policies that fuel economic growth and exhibit a clear willingness to back free enterprise policy solutions. The U.S. Chamber understands that for the country to succeed, businesses need to succeed. That’s why the U.S. Chamber is committed to supporting bold and unwavering pro-business advocates.
“Growing and supporting a thriving economy in Central, Western, and Northern Illinois is critical to strong communities, and I’m so thrilled to work with the U.S. Chamber to support businesses and the people of the 17th District,” said Esther Joy King, Republican candidate for Congress in Illinois’ Seventeenth Congressional District. “Living across the river from Iowa, I know Illinois has a lot of work to do to change the trajectory of our state and incentivize people to stay here and recruit others to move here. This is an uphill battle for sure, but just because it’s a hard fight, doesn’t mean it’s not a fight worth fighting, and I look forward to being part of the change we need in Illinois. One issue that is not unique to Illinois is inflation. As we heard today during our tour of Anchor Lumber, the cost of construction projects has more than doubled what they were just a few years ago because of inflation and that’s leading to increase costs for consumers everywhere.”
On June 21, the U.S. Chamber was in Illinois’ Seventeenth Congressional District for a series of campaign events for Esther Joy King.
In coordination with the U.S. Chamber’s political team, the Great Lakes Region office, and the King campaign, the U.S. Chamber successfully completed a roundtable to discuss issues that the business community is facing and an endorsement event.
East Moline, IL
The U.S. Chamber hosted a roundtable event at East Moline Glass. It was well attended, and those in attendance included representatives from Arconic, Deloitte, and several other local businesses. Esther spoke to those in attendance about supply chain, inflation, WRDA, infrastructure, taxes, workforce, and immigration.
The roundtable was followed by a tour of Anchor Lumber, a local housing truss factory. The tour was followed by an endorsement event, where I presented Esther with the U.S. Chamber’s endorsement.
King’s endorsement was covered by WQAD8.
