WASHINGTON, D.C. — In response to an inquiry received by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation today from the Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, the following statement can be attributed to Eric Eversole, President, Hiring Our Heroes, U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation:
“It appears the committee received faulty information based on inaccurate reporting by Breitbart News, which made false accusations regarding the funding of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation.
“The Tides Foundation operates a donor advised fund, through which corporations and individuals make charitable donations. The funds received by the Chamber Foundation were charitable contributions from corporations made to the donor advised fund. The funding supports the long-standing Hiring Our Heroes program, which provides training, upskilling and employment for veterans and military spouses, as well as smaller programs focused on workforce development.”
