Washington, D.C. – U.S. Chamber of Commerce Senior Vice President of the Employment Policy Division Glenn Spencer released the following statement on the National Labor Relation Board’s Cemex decision:
“The Cemex decision is breathtaking in its repudiation of the text of the National Labor Relations Act, extensive court rulings, and more than five decades of National Labor Relations Board precedent. It will result in fundamental and repeated denials of workers’ right to make a free and fair choice about unions using private ballot elections. Congress has repeatedly rejected mandating card check organizing. Yet the NLRB imposes it with the stroke of a pen. The Chamber will continue to oppose efforts by this Board to undercut the rights of workers and employers."
