WASHINGTON, D.C. - The following statement can be attributed to Glenn Spencer, Senior Vice President of Employment Policy Division, U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
“The Chamber applauds the bipartisan leadership of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee for approving the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act. The bill is a balanced approach to protecting the rights of pregnant employees and the interests of employers. It will reduce litigation while providing pregnant workers with reasonable accommodations so they can remain in the workforce. The Committee's action brings the PWFA one step closer to passage, and we look forward to this bill being approved by the full Senate.”
