WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Chamber Executive Vice President and Chief Policy Officer Neil Bradley issued the following statement today after the announcement of President Biden’s new action plan for the winter months to combat the new COVID-19 Delta and Omicron variants:
“We echo the sentiment expressed today by President Biden that no business should have to shut down this winter because of COVID-19. Vaccines are the most effective way to stop the spread of this deadly virus.
“We encourage employers to find ways to remove barriers to vaccination by providing workers with paid time off to get their first, second, or booster shot. As all of us continue to learn to live with the coronavirus, it is reassuring to see that the CDC is working on new science-based policies that are intended to ensure children remain safe while reducing the risk of unnecessary disruptions that interrupt their education or make it hard for parents or caregivers to work.”
