The undersigned small business organizations respectfully request that you confirm Jovita Carranza to serve as SBA Administrator.
We are proud of America’s 30.7 million small businesses. They are the engine of the economy, creating more than 60 percent of net new jobs and producing almost half of U.S. GDP. [1]
The SBA and partner organizations, including Small Business Development Centers, SCORE, Women Business Centers, and others, help small businesses by providing access to capital, disaster assistance, and tools needed for businesses to start, grow, and succeed. The members of our small business organizations utilize the programs run by SBA and Senate-confirmed leadership will help ensure effectiveness of the agency’s programs.
Jovita Carranza’s leadership at SBA would benefit from her past experience as Deputy Administrator and from her current position as Treasurer of the United States. Ms. Carranza received bipartisan approval from the Committee on Small Business & Entrepreneurship in late 2019, and we ask that you vote to confirm her nomination.
