Washington, D.C. —U.S. Chamber Executive Vice President and Chief Policy Officer Neil Bradley issued the following statement today ahead of the expected move tomorrow to begin formal conference proceedings on the Bipartisan Innovation Act:
“The Chamber is pleased that conference deliberations on the Bipartisan Innovation Act are starting. The bill includes a number of measures that will enhance the global competitiveness of U.S business, including funding for the CHIPS for America Act, which more than 240 state and local chambers of commerce and other business associations recently urged Congress to approve.
“To win approval, a number of extraneous measures that would erode U.S. competitiveness will need to be jettisoned, as the Chamber has argued. Frankly the only bill that can possibly become law will be close to what originally passed the Senate. The Chamber is committed to working closely with congressional leaders of both parties and the administration to chart a path forward for this important legislation. Time is of the essence.”
