This comment letter, from U.S. Chamber Center for Capital Markets Competitiveness Executive Vice President Tom Quaadman and U.S. Chamber Senior Vice President for National Security and Emergency Preparedness Ann Beauchesne, was sent to the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, Executive Secretary of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, regarding the proposed rulemaking on Enhanced Cyber Risk Management Standards.
Dear Senator Grassley and Representative Collins: The U.S. Chamber of Commerce supports H.R. 469 and S. 119, the “Sunshine for Regulatory Decrees and Settlements Act” and thanks you for introducing this important legislation. The Sunshine for Regulatory Decrees and Settlements Act would help address the abusive “sue and settle” process that allows special interest groups to use lawsuit settlements to take effective control of an agency’s agenda and regulatory priorities.
On January 18, 2017, the Chamber sent a letter to Congressman Chabot, Congresswoman Velázquez, Senator Risch, and Senator Shaheen applauding the House passage of H.R. 5 which compiles several regulatory reform bills, including H.R. 55, the “Regulatory Accountability Act,” and H.R. 33, “the Small Business Regulatory Flexibility Improvements Act of 2017,” and urge the Senate to expeditiously consider regulatory reform legislation.
